Dear Friends and Competitors of The Lorenzo Driving Competition,

After a tough winter, Spring comes to tell us that its time to launch the Lorenzo 2010 Driving Competition, and  we all look forward to those few magical days.  Last year’s competition was a joy – great weather, fabulous competitors, great horses and ponies and general happy feelings all round.

We are excited to have Lore Homer and her daughter Karen Homer Brown as judges this year.  Micki Bowen returns as TD, and Dot Billington is Obstacle Course Designer.  Deb McCarthy and Julie La Frenz will announce again and, of course, the elegant Matt Ferro returns as Ringmaster.

We’re adding a carriage dog class this year just to add to the general jocularity.  Pups will stay in carriages, not run behind or alongside since so many spectators bring their pooches and could create distraction for all.  The class will be the first class after lunch on Sunday – remember that Ride and Drive is the last class before lunch that day.

On Friday evening, competitors and friends are invited to join the show committee organizers, The Friends of Lorenzo and the Cazenovia community at the Welcome Gala,  Hats Off To Lorenzo!  A special tribute to this historic event, including demonstrations, photographs from previous years’ shows, and a special presentation to the Lorenzo State Historic Site are being planned.  We urge you to wear your favorite hat!!   Further details on the website shortly.

If you know of anyone or group who would be like to receive a prize list, please contact us by phone, snail mail, or email – all numbers are on the following page.  We are looking forward to seeing you once again on the beautiful Lorenzo grounds in July!
